Overview

The IITHE Level 4 Diploma in Business Management is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of management principles and practices within a business context. This qualification equips students with essential skills to manage business operations effectively, make informed decisions, and drive organizational success.

The course combines both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across various aspects of business management, including strategic planning, human resource management, and operational effectiveness.

Entry Requirements:
  • Typically aimed at learners aged 18 and above.
  • Entry profile may include:
    • Relevant Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification
    • GCE Advanced Level in at least two subjects, or equivalent qualifications
    • Mature learners (aged 21 and over) with relevant management experience (verification with the centre may be required)

Equivalences: The IITHE Level 4 Diploma in Business Management is equivalent to Higher National Certificates (HNC) and the first year of a UK Bachelor’s degree.

Qualification Structure: The diploma consists of six mandatory units, totaling 120 credits, with 1200 Total Qualification Time (TQT) hours and a minimum of 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

  1. Business and the Economic Environment (20 Credits)
    Provides an overview of the economic environment in which businesses operate, including market dynamics, economic policies, and the impact of globalization.
  2. Principles of Management (20 Credits)
    Covers fundamental management theories and practices, including organizational structure, strategic planning, and leadership styles.
  3. Human Resource Management (20 Credits)
    Focuses on HR practices and policies, including recruitment, employee development, and performance management.
  4. Marketing Principles (20 Credits)
    Introduces the principles of marketing, including market research, consumer behavior, and strategic marketing planning.
  5. Operations Management (20 Credits)
    Examines the principles of operations management, including supply chain management, quality control, and process optimization.
  6. Financial Management (20 Credits)
    Provides knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting, financial analysis, and the management of financial resources.
Duration and Delivery:
  • Duration: Typically completed over two academic years for full-time students, with flexible options for part-time or distance learning.
  • Delivery Methods: Courses are delivered face-to-face through lectures, tutorials, and seminars, or via distance and online learning through approved centres.
Assessment and Verification:
  • All units are internally assessed by the institution and externally verified by IITHE.
  • Assessment is criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of specified learning outcomes.
  • Assessors will provide detailed evidence of learners’ achievements, ensuring that all assessment criteria are met.
